About me
I am a freelance photographer and filmmaker based in Birmingham, UK , who has previously done work for higher education institutions (University of Birmingham; Nottingham Trent University), and local art organisations (Centrala Gallery, PRISM Photographers Network).
I've graduated with a BA in Fashion Design from the University of Leeds in 2016. In the following years I focused on community engagement work and my creative practice. I have exhibited my work internationally including in the UK and Austria and was awarded a DYCP grant from Arts Council UK in 2021 to produce new work. I focus mainly on photography, film and installation.
Since 2021, I've started integrating aspects of my creative practice within larger research projects such as University of Birmingham’s ‘Post-Socialist Britain?’- an investigation into how memory influences political identity in the context of migration.
In my efforts to further investigate ways of embedding visual methodologies to research projects, I graduated with an MA in Visual Anthropology from University of Manchester in 2023. My final project was represented by a written dissertation and a medium length documentary 'Of sisters and brothers'. This film explores how place attachment is negotiated in relation to memory and experience through the transnational stories of a Roma sister and brother. It was selected for screening at the Association of Social Anthropologists 2025 Annual Conference.
