Between 2021 and 2023 I was the community lead for  Post-Socialist Britain?  an AHRC-funded research project, led by Professor Sara Jones at the University of Birmingham.  For this project I have organised and facilitated the delivery of over 40x  photography workshops and photowalks which brought together migrant and local communities. I have also contributed to the project's outputs by designing various resource packs.

More about the project:

Post-Socialist Britain?: Memory, Representation and Political Identity amongst German, Polish and Ukrainian Immigrants in the UK is a research project that explores what happens to the connection between collective memory and political identity in the process of migration. Focussing on countries with an experience of state socialist rule, the project explores how the popular notion that political extremism in post-socialist countries is underpinned by collective memory of authoritarianism is based on the assumption that those remembering authoritarianism do so in their country of origin.
